Rivnuts - Smooth Body Rivet Nuts - Steel
Brands you know and trust - Aerobolt®
Rivnuts - Smaller Diameter Steel Rivet Nuts.
A Rivnut creates a female thread in low torque thin metal sheet applications. Make rivnuts your first choice when seeking a flush finish, looking to drill a smaller hole or working close to the edge of the parent material. Countersunk profile for a neat surface with a lead-in chamfer for fast insertion. Seeking more rivnut information?
Rivnut key benefits.
- Smaller body diameter compared to Nutsert Xtralok®
- Blind side assembly for fast and easy installations.
- Countersunk profile for a flush finish.
- Highly resilient, forming a permanent captive thread.
- Easy to use Rivnut Tools and many more benefits.
Small diameter lightweight Rivnuts.
Rivnuts provide an excellent joining solution in low torque applications such as thin metal sheeting. These rivnuts are ideal when seeking to drill a smaller hole compared to other variations of nutserts or working close to the edge of the parent material. Available in steel, stainless or aluminium where galvanic activity may be an issue. Ideal for punched or drilled holes they can be installed using a Rivnut tool, either before or after finish coat is applied. Check out the Rivnut Page.
Rivnut Advantages.
- One side assembly for fast installations as access to the rear is not required.
- Highly resilient, forming a permanent thread for the attachment of a bolt/screw.
- Easy installations with minimal training. Rivnut tools are readily available.
- Can be used to assemble two or more materials, like a rivet.
- Installs into galvanised or pre-painted material without damaging surface.
- Smooth body shank makes these rivnuts ideal in low torque applications.
- Installs into a wide range of material gauges due to its high grip range tolerance.
101 Rivnut Applications.
Rivnuts have 101 uses which make them suitable for various applications such as; automotive manufacturing, aviation, balustrades, commercial kitchens, commercial furniture & fit-outs, electrical appliances & switchboards, Emergency vehicles, Farming equipment, HVAC (Heating, ventilation & air conditioning), Medical equipment, Military equipment & vehicles, Playground equipment, Sheet metal fabrication, solar installations, refrigeration, RV Vehicles, Trucks & Trailers, Ute canopy bodies, Utility vehicles and so much more.
How Rivnuts & Nutserts Work.
Rivnuts - Smooth Body Rivet Nut.
A Rivnut, also known as a rivet nut or threaded insert, is a type of fastener used to create a threaded hole in materials that are thin or where access to the backside is limited. It is commonly used when joining metal sheets or other materials that are too thin to support a tapped thread.
A Rivnut consists of a cylindrical body with a threaded interior and a flange at one end. The exterior of the body may have ridges or knurls to provide better grip and prevent rotation like Nutsert Xtralok. The other end of the rivnut is open to allow access for installation.
Rivnut - How to Install Lab.
To install a rivnut, a hole is drilled or punched into the material. The rivnut is then inserted into the hole, and a tool is used to deform or compress the flange end. This process causes the rivnut to expand and grip the material securely. The threaded interior of the rivnut provides a reliable and durable anchor point for bolts, screws, or other fasteners.
Rivnuts are commonly used in industries such as automotive, aerospace, electronics, and manufacturing, where they provide a versatile and efficient method for adding threaded connections to thin or inaccessible materials.
