Structural Rivets Australia

Structural rivets, high performing rivets from the Australian riveting specialists.
High strength structural rivets are ideal for vibration resistant applications. With impressive clamping strength, structural rivets are commonly used in the fabrication of utility vehicles, trucks, trains, truck trailers, security fencing and numerous other thin sheet metal applications.
Structural rivets are commonly called lock rivets or Huck® rivets and are easy to install using an air gun or battery cordless. Requiring a simple visual inspection after setting, these high strength rivets provide a fast and cost effective solution to the most demanding applications.
Structural rivets differ from standard rivets because they are designed with a locking mechanism that holds the mandrel within the body upon installation. When the rivet is being installed, the body section deforms onto the blind side of the material with a portion of the mandrel remaining in the body. This action creates a solid interlock between the body, the mandrel and the material. See image on the right for the anatomy of a typical structural rivet

What is a structural rivet?
Structural rivets differ from standard rivets because they are designed with a locking mechanism that holds the mandrel within the body upon installation, unlike standard rivet where the mandrel is completely removed, leaving a hollow body. When the rivet is being installed, the body section deforms onto the blind side of the material with a portion of the mandrel remaining in the body. This action creates a solid interlock between the body, the mandrel and the material.
